Doug and Laurie Pooch are representatives for Expedition Log Homes in the central Iowa area.  They were able to realize their dream of building their custom log home in 1992 and became log home dealers at that time. 

During the past 17 years they've helped many people achieve their dream of building their own log home.  It's a great source of pride and enjoyment to Doug and Laurie to see their customers realize their goals and dreams of obtaining their own log home.

Doug and Laurie love to open their home to people who are interested in finding out more about log homes.  You can attend one of their monthly open houses or make a personal appointment.  Either one will give a chance to ask questions, and learn from Doug and Laurie's vast experience in log home construction, finance, maintenance, decorating, etc.   They've delivered homes in the central Iowa area, Colorado, Missouri, and northeast and northwest Iowa. 

The Pooches also build some of the log homes they sell in the central Iowa area.  Their company, Cabin Fever Construction LLC, has built custom homes of varying sizes ---  anywhere from weekend lake homes to 5,000 sq. ft. full-time residences.   Cabin Fever Construction builds two to three homes a year and this is on a "first come, first serve" basis.  Their latest projects include recently completed log homes in the Ankeny, Indianola and Cumming areas.  There is also an Expedition Log Homes under construction in Minnesota.  Construction began Spring of '07 in the Strawberry Point area.  Please see the "Photo Gallery" for pictures of homes the Pooches have delivered and/or built.

If you would like to see an Expedition Log Home as it's being built, the Pooches will have homes under construction in 2008 and would be happy to show them to you. 

Doug and Laurie also are able to supply logs or log posts and railings, mantels, etc., to clients who want to customize an existing home.  They also are able to provide clients with log home stains and sealers, such as Velvit, Sashco and Woodguard products.
